Clinical Roles - Occupational therapist / Speech Pathologist

Fraser Coast & Gold Coast positions - Permanent Full Time or Part Time

Your New Role:

This is a unique opportunity to join our Fraser Coast team. You will be supported across all steps of your role to develop and strengthen your clinical expertise by providing both assessment based and therapeutic interventions to a variety of people between the ages of 0 and 65 years old. You will be working with participants and their families and caregivers who have NDIS funding, both in the community setting and in our clinic spaces.


At HEEA, no two days are the same, though a typical week may involve:

  • Monday to Wednesday you will see your participants with between 15-18 face to face appointments
    • Providing therapy to a variety of people who rely on you to improve their lives. You will assess their needs, design appropriate therapy plans, and advocate on their behalf.
    • Speech Pathology: Supporting participants with disability across several areas including adult and child language, social communication and swallowing/dysphagia by using a range of AAC devices.
    • Occupational Therapy:  Providing support in the areas of Early Intervention, home modifications (simple and complex if you have a desire to learn this); equipment prescription including mobility aids, positioning supports, bathroom aids and seating; and assistive technology across a range of areas including self-care, low tech and learning aids.
  • Thursdays and Fridays you're in the office, sit on the lounge, bean bag or a desk to:
    • Collaborate with the HEEA team and or supervisors, to share knowledge and ideas
    • Non-Face to Face activities
    • Reporting directly to the NDIS
    • Attending formal and informal opportunities
    • Weekly supervision
  • Fridays are our day to unwind for the week, we share our challenges, celebrate our successors and unwind with a team meeting beach walk or bowling competition


When You Join Us:

We understand the importance of structured onboarding and ongoing support and assistance for all staff, especially new graduates.

When you join HEEA, we ensure that you are provided with dedicated, tailored support including:

  • Two weeks HEEA specific onboarding including a comprehensive introduction to community practice, working with people with a disability, the NDIS and life at HEEA.
  • Weekly connection to a Supervisor to help you navigate all areas of NDIS across your discipline and guide your internal and external professional development activities
  • A buddy within your office to answer any ad hoc questions that you may have
  • A supportive and experienced team to collaborate with and learn from, across Australia
  • A smart phone and Surface Pro to support flexible working and work/life balance as access to our vast resources to ensure you are well equipped when working out in the community
  • On the job training and career development opportunities including a $10,000 external PD Budget
  • Potential to commence earlier as a fulltime Allied Health Assistant whilst awaiting SPA / AHPRA Registration

What we are Looking For:

  • You are about to graduate or have graduated within the last 12 months from a relevant tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology or Occupational Therapy
  • You have your own car and a valid drivers’ license

    • SPA / APRHA registration
    • Working with Children Check (or eligible to apply for)

Benefits

Salary:   Above Award Salary 

Total Package New Graduate $130,083 

Experienced Therapist $150,810 

  • New Graduate $90,000 Base Salary
  • Experienced Therapist $108,000  Base Salary 
  • + 11% Super
  • + Acknowledgement Payment (Bonus) of up to $20,176 per annum for exceeding your billable hours!
  • + $10,000 PD budget annually, which is flexible to use to meet the needs of your caseload – imagine being able to use $1,500 towards your own wellness - think gym, wellness retreat etc


Caseload: You will see 15-18 NDIS participants each week, aged 0-65 with a variety of diagnoses and therapy goals. 


Location: We are based in the beautiful Hervey Bay & vibrant Southport Gold Coast. We offer clinic-based appointments.  

Full Administration Support: Our full-time Business Support Team manages your bookings and billings - so you can focus on your participants!


Supervision & Support: You will have access to weekly supervision with experienced external supervisors. Our experienced OT/SP/Physio team members are available for informal catch ups, peer supervision, and fortnightly Allied Health team meetings.
